The needs of the Executive can be very different from the needs of others. What the Executive needs is a Coach-Confidante with whom he or she can reflect their thoughts, testing future strategies. A safe space where free and even “crazy” thinking can be tried out before it is introduced to their peers or the Board.

This is where the Executive Coach facilitates an environment for free, innovative thinking.

There is also a need for the Executive to reflect on his/her accomplishments, fears, and even mistakes. This is of absolute importance to aid him or her in further learning on the journey to success.

Then there is the pressure of keeping the organisation growing while also looking to spend time with family and friends, maintain personal health, and achieve work-life balance. In these areas, the Executive Coach needs to work with utmost professionalism, sensitivity, and trust.
